The NextGenPCF consortium is pleased to welcome FiberSensing as a new partner!

FiberSensing, a spin-off company from INESC Porto, has recently become part of NextGenPCF Consortium. Together with FOS&S, this new partner will contribute with its solid know-how in the development and manufacturing of advanced optoelectronic instruments and sensing systems to do the commercial valorisation of the technology developed by Bath and IPHT for the gas sensor and by INESC for the interrogation unit.

Leukos joins the consortium!

The NextGenPCF consortium is pleased to welcome Leukos as a new partner! Leukos is a spin-out company from XLIM at the University of Limoges, and is a specialist in compact optical supercontinuum sources and in fibre-based variable delay lines. Leukos has joined the consortium in order to bring its expertise in supercontinuum generation and commercial operation into the project, and we expect to see benefits flowing in both directions.
Recently, Leukos has been awarded by the "Golden Photon", the French first price of innovation, at OPTO 2008 exhibition for its tunable laser source developed in association with Canadian company Photon Etc.

European Training Day in Photonic Crystal Fibres.
We announce a Training Day for students and junior researchers interested in photonic crystal fibres. The Day will be held on 22nd January 2008 on the USTL campus at Lille. The programme consists of a series of talks by leading experts on both fundamental and applied aspects of photonic crystal fibres, and also includes a laboratory tour of some of the relevant facilities at USTL. The Training Day is open to young researchers from throughout Europe, but those intending to attend are asked to please contact the organisers in advance. For further details, or to express interest in attending, please contact Marc Douay or Geraud Bouwmans at Lille.
